BAKING CLASS

NO. OF STUDENT : Maximum of 10 students for each class.
LOCATION : Taman Cheras Indah, Kuala Lumpur. Map is at top page under “Class schedule & map”.

CLASS 1 : BAKING FOR BEGINNERS
Instructor : Chef Gunawan Hj Jamil
Time : One day course, from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm
Date : 18 / 02 / 2012 Saturday
Fee : RM250.00 per person
Type : Demo and hands-on
Topic :
•Preparing ingredients, cake mixing, lining cake tin, baking technique and oven use.
•Baking 5 varieties of classic cakes – Sponge cake, butter cake, chocolate cake, fruit cake and lemon cheesecake.
•Free recipes – Polka dot cake, rainbow cake, red velvet and ice-cream cake.
Students will be able to taste and take home cake samples. Items to bring - apron, kitchen towel, pen, cake box or containers.
CLASS 2 : BASIC BREAD MAKING
Instructor : Chef Gunawan Hj Jamil
Time : One day course, from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm
Date : 25 / 02 / 2012 Saturday
Fee : RM220.00 per person
Type : Demo and hands-on
Topic :
•Mixing the dough, kneading, rising, dividing and shaping the dough, glazing and baking.
•Students will learn how to bake : Burger bun, soft roll, assorted doughnut & berliner, baguette, mexican bun.
•Free recipes - Nut bread, chicken floss bread, coconut bread and raisin bread.
Students will be able to taste and take home bread samples. Items to bring - apron, kitchen towel, pen, cake box or containers.
CLASS 3 : TARTS
Instructor : Chef Gunawan Hj Jamil
Time : One day course, from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm
Date : 11 / 02 / 2012 Saturday
Fee : RM200.00 per person
Type : Demo and hands-on
Topic :
•Mixing the tart crust/dough, chilling, prebaking, finishing
•Making the tart filling
•Students will learn how to make 5 types of dishes : Cheese tart, lemon meringue tart, chocolate tart, caramelized apple tart, chicken pot pie
•Sizes of tart will be a mixture of round big tart pan and in small tartlets tin
•Free recipes - Honey, walnut and ricotta pie, lamb and rosemary patties, salmon pie.
Students will be able to taste and take home tart samples. Items to bring - apron, kitchen towel, pen, cake box or containers.

INSTRUCTOR PROFILE : CHEF GUNAWAN HJ. JAMIL
Chef Gunawan specialized in Bakery, Pastries & Confectionery and is an expert in Austrian and Dutch dessert. Has worked in the following companies – Malaysia International Shipping Corporation, Hotel Impiana KL, Concorde Inn KLIA, Prince Court Medical Centre KL. Also participated as Judge in cooking shows, conducting cooking demos in TV and functions, and teaching Kemas participants. An active member of the Chef Association of Malaysia
