Topic :

  • Preparing ingredients, cake mixing, lining cake tin, baking technique and oven use.
  • Baking classic cakes – Sponge cake, butter cake, chocolate cake, fruit cake and cheesecake.
  • Free recipes – Banana bread, hollandaise cake, fruit flan & meringue cake.
Students will be able to taste and take home cake samples. Items to bring - apron, kitchen towel, pen, cake box or containers.

CLASS 2 : AUSTRIAN & DUTCH CAKES

  • Baking Austrian & Dutch cakes- (Sachertorte)Viennese Chocolate cake, apple cake, weiner gugelhupf (coffee cake), Austrian-style napolean cake and lemon poppy cake.
  • Making the cake filling and glaze.
  • Free recipes – coffee & walnut roulade, caramel peach gateau, banana coconut loaf cake & classic cherry cake.

CLASS 3 : WESTERN COOKIES

  • Making cookies – Brunsli ( Chocolate Chewy ), Gingerbread, Butter cookies with royal Icing, Cheese Paprika Cookies and frosted cherry rings cookies
  • Free recipes – polenta berry crunch cookies, classic oatmeal biscuit, mini florentine

Students will be able to taste and take home cake samples. Items to bring - apron, kitchen towel, pen, cake box or containers.

CLASS 4 : PIE, TART, STRUDEL

  • Baking the following – Linzer torte, apple strudel, sweet curd strudel, chicken & mushroom pie & chocolate pear tart.
  • Free recipes – Spice pear & sultana strudel, summer fruit tartlet & beef curry pie.

CHEF PROFILE

Chef Gunawan specialized in Bakery, Pastries & Confectionery and is an expert in Austrian and Dutch dessert. Has worked in the following companies – Malaysia International Shipping Corporation, Hotel Impiana KL, Concorde Inn KLIA, Prince Court Medical Centre KL. Also participated as Judge in cooking shows, conducting cooking demos in TV and functions, and teaching Kemas participants. An active member of the Chef Association of Malaysia.
